  • 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Engaging Learning with Technologies
    online

    ABOUT THIS EVENT

This webinar has been designed to respond to the theme of “BUILDING DIGITAL COMPETENCE”. It responds to the Pillar of Future-Ready Knowledge and Skills in the new SOLAS Creating Futures FET Strategy 2026-2030. [1]

The session is just a taster to get us thinking about how we can design for engagement at the outset, and how we can think critically and reflectively about why and how we use technologies in the learning environment for the ultimate benefit of all learners. Its aim is to build your confidence and competence in making decisions about how we engage learning with technologies, and why we make the choices we do. We hope it will prompt you to learn more into the future.

  • 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm Assistive Technologies and accessibility in FET
    online

About this event: This webinar has been designed to respond to the theme of Building Digital Competence which is our focus here in the PL&D hub for September. Within these technologies, tools, and devices, the presence of Assistive Technology offers us choice. In the session, we will explore the learner journey and the types of challenges that arise from their assignments. Matching Assistive Technology to their challenges and providing context for Assistive Technology can facilitate the adoption of technology as a support. By the end of the session, we will identify the types of Assistive Technology, how they can be used, and how we can advance awareness of Assistive Technology. Bring curiosity and questions to the session as we navigate this technology space. Please register here [1].
